Multi-Mix Export Bug

Hi,

we are currently testing VoukoderPro for iTunes-Delivery and there seems to be an error with the Track-ID´s

Specifically we are delivering ProRes 422HQ Files with both a 5.1 and an additional stereo mix in the same file.

So I tried that with Voukoder Pro in Resolve under windows 10 and the file itself is working.
It is playing and all channels are there, but the Ingest-System from Itunes does not accept it.

Both Resolve and Premiere recognize the tracks as 5.1 and stereo. As well does the Switch-Player, but the quicktime-player only shows the 5.1.

I am still troubleshooting, but my current guess is that there is an error with the Track ID´s.

If I open one of our usual exports in the Quicktime Player it shows the Video-Track as Track-ID 1, the 5.1 Mix as 2 and the stereo as 3.

The file that ITunes wont accept, that I made with voukoderPro tags the video-track as 3 and the 5.1 as 1. The Stereo doesnt show at all.
(though other Metadata-Tools like MediaInfo does show the stereo as ID 2)

As I said I am not 100% sure if thats the problem.
I´ll update this if I find another clue why iTunes doesnt accept Voukoder-Files.

Thanks for letting me know.

It really sounds like there is a QT specific issue. I don't set the Track-ID / Stream-ID manually. But the order shouldn't matter at all. Can you send me a small sample file so that I can investigate this as well?

Hey, sorry for the late response.

I am having trouble attaching a file. The Forum gives me an error when I do.
(Before you ask: Yes, the file ist below 20MB and wrapped in a zip-archive)

Can I send you the file with another method, like a dropbox- or wetransfer-link?

or should I send you the exact export-settings?

Regarding the bug:
It seems like the appearence of the bug is inconsistent and I am not 100% if it is only the ID-thing, because the Media-Validation of the iTunes-Ingest-System also complains about the file I exported with voukoderPro that randomly had the correct track-ID´s.

btw: The exact error I get is "All audio tracks are required to be enabled", but all our media-players do recognize and play them wich is why I guessed its because of the switched track-ID´s

Here the video track (ID 3) comes after the audio tracks (ID 1, ID 2). Theoretically the track ordering doesn't matter.

Is it possible ITunes expects the video track(s) come first, and the audio tracks after it?

I am not sure.
I guessed it was the ID´s because it was the most obvious difference between the files, but now I tried uploading a file (made with voukoder) that had the right ID-Order (no idea why it had the right order now) and he still gave the same "All audio tracks are required to be enabled" Error.

So the ID-thing cant be the sole reason why iTunes rejects the files.

Looking at the metadata I can find several differences, between the accepted file made natively with Resolve on Mac and the file made with VoukoderPro for Resolve on Windows.

I attached the metadata for comparison with the package iTunes accepted.

Well, could it be ITunes on the Mac expects a big endian file while VoukoderPro on Windows produces a little endian file?

Momo Are you exporting the file on windows, then copy it over to a Mac and feed it to ITunes?

Yes basically,
we export it on windows, save it on our Server and then send it to iTunes from there.
