GPU usage low (video encode 1%)

  • When rendering a video, I have noticed in my task manager that the GPU seems to be very low (around 1%) while my CPU seems to be doing more of the heavy lifting (60-70% usage). I have updated my video card drivers with no luck. I am using version 2.1.0. How do I fix this? Here's more info:

    CPU: Ryzen 5 2600

    GPU: GTX 1070 Ti

    Storage: SSD

    RAM: 16GB

    Encoder options: b=15000000 gpu=0 maxrate=20000000 preset=fast profile=main rc=vbr

  • Have you applied many effects from frame 150? Because at this time the latencies are much higher.

Everything is explained here: Voukoder Performance Analysis

    Zitat
    • Voukoder does not necessarily do exports faster! It simply provides access to different encoders. These give you the possibilities to choose between the three encoding priorities. Encoding speed or video quality or filesize. You can't have all together!
    • Voukoder does not speed up rendering! If the host application is slow with rendering / delivering frames Voukoder can't make it go faster and it is actually limited to that speed. No matter how fast any encoder / GPU is!
