Hi Vouk
Please, If possible, the ability to render lossless Intermediate files (ProRes, MOV, AVI etc.) with alpha channel in Vegas, Premiere, After Effects and Adobe Media Encoder.
Please check out this topic Need RGB+ Alpha In Mov Format
It should work with prores in a mov container.
Note: Not all connectors support >8 bit color depth yet, but Premiere and Media Encoder should work fine.
Vouk Thanks for the answer
For some reason, I can't get the alpha channel to work in Vegas and Premiere using the link setup you sent. It works only in After Effects, but the generated file is distorted. I haven't tested it on the Media Encoder, because theoretically it uses the same encoders as Premiere and After Effects.
I took a screenshot so you can see what happens. Please have a look when you have some time. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
An important detail that I forgot to mention is that Vegas is able to import ProRes 444 but does not support the alpha channel in this type of file. So don't be surprised if in your tests the dark background of the videos is not removed. It is another one of the limitations of Vegas.
Yes, the ProRes alpha channel (read) support of Vegas Pro 17 is for ProRes 4444 (both YUVA and RGBA work) only.
Waiting for Magix for an updated SDK to support this.
