Dropping support for Adobe Premiere CS6?

I know there are quite alot users working still with Premiere CS6. Maybe because of the faster and more responsive UI, maybe because it doesn't require a subscription model to use it. Unfortunately Adobe removed all downloads completely a while ago and there is no way of installing it anymore as an "old version" from the creative cloud app. Adobe also rejected my request to provide me an alternative solution to somehow still get CS6.

That basically means I also have to drop supporting CS6 in the Adobe Premiere Connector, too.

But maybe there is one last chance: If the CS6 community would be able to donate me a (fully legal) Premiere CS6 package I would be able to continue testing to make sure later versions of Voukoder are still compatible with it. Illegal ways to solve this matter are not an option!

    Thanks.

  • Hey Vouk, I just registered to say thank you for all your hard work! I'm a CS 6 user because I'm one of those people who can't afford to shell out a monthly fee for their just-for-fun side projects (and don't want to use my employer's hardware and CC subsription for that) and your encoder has been a godsend for me. The main reason I use Voukoder is because my hardware is way too advanced, so the CS6 supported GPUs are pretty much obsolete by now... Your work sped up my workflow tremendously and made far better use of my hardware - I wish more people knew about it.

I can totally understand you're ready to move on and I know how hard it can be to find a legit licence from personal experience. But know this: you've saved my ass a couple of times when Adobe left people like me behind, so THANK YOU and good luck with everything you release in the future!

I'll tag along for as long as I can ;)

Thanks, that's nice to hear. Yes, the existing connector might still be working with CS6 for some time, I just don't have any possibility to test it with CS6 anymore.

And yes, it is not easy to develop these plugins/connectors. I almost get no support from that NLE companies (Magix is a positive exception). But most of my questions to Adobe and BlackMagic are still unanswered and I don't get a free license from them. Adobe doesn't even want to increase the limitation of 2 registrations per account for testing purposes.
