The ProRes YUVA 4:4:4 (10bit) option which does processing with alpha channel (transparent background) does not work in VEGAS pro. The video is processed correctly, but the alpha channel is not generated. I believe this is a problem in VEGAS as this option works correctly in Adobe Premiere and After effects.

Same issue!

Voukoder currently gets the frame data as I420 or P010 from VEGAS only (which does not have alpha channel). I would have to use A410 for this.
-
Well then, we would be very grateful for you to use A410 for that then..... Thanks!

Working on it.
Edit: Please try out the latest VEGAS connectors.
Changes:
- Alpha channel templates (VEGAS 18 and 19)
- Speed improvements
-
Appreciate it Vouk... Thanks for dedicating your time to this project, and As always, you are the man!

Just wondering ... Did you notice a speed improvement?
-
Overall rendering speed improvement or speed improvement for the new alpha channel processing?
-

Overall.
-
Just ran a very short test, and i did experience a very slight improvement in the overall rendering speed over previous versions..... Therefore, so far so good....Will go a bit more in-depth later.

Hi Vouk
Thank you so much for working on it.
I did a little test on Vegas Pro 19. I rendered only the text of the timeline with transparent background using Voukoder with new alpha channel models.
The transparent background is created, but when adding the video to the timeline the text of the video is not displayed even with the Alpha Channel Strainght (Unmatted) option enabled in Properties/Media.
Only the Alpha channel Premultiplied option in Properties/Media displays the text of the video, but the colors and transparency are changed in this mode.
If you wish, my full screen recording with this test can be downloaded from this link:

So If I understand this correctly:
- The Video with the transparent background "Voukoder for VEGAS Alpha Channel test" is being exported correctly with that Alpha Channel template, right? If so then basically Voukoder is basically working.
- Even on the timeline everything looks correct.
- When rendering the final video there are issues in the rendered video.
I guess this is an issue with VEGAS and/or with its settings as the transparent video itself is looking correct. But when using this clip again issues are happening. But that's VEGAS responsibility. Maybe you shoudn't use the alpha channel template for the final video.
- Render the text clip with the alpha channel template
- Render the final clip with a non-alpha channel template (as you don't want alpha information there)

Hi Vouk
The screen recording I have attached shows in detail what takes place. Check it out when possible. I believe it will make you understand better.
VEGAS now have native support for ProRes 4444 with alpha channel has been added and everything works fine when I use this option to export videos with alpha channel and re-import to the VEGAS timeline.
But the files are huge and rendering is very slow when the alpha channel is enabled. Voukoder is more faster and generates much smaller files. So it's worth waiting to see Voukoder alpha channel working properly in VEGAS.
Thanks again for working on this. Your encoder is very useful. Much better than MAGIX encoders.

I can reproduce this. Unfortunately I didn't find out why the alpha channel is always at 0%, even if it should be at 100%.
Sad thing is VEGAS isn't using a "standard" pixel format for this mode.

Hi Vouk
I'm sending you a screen recording and also a small project made in VEGAS Pro 19.
In this project I created a ProRes file with alpha channel which is correctly recognized in VEGAS Pro 19.
For this I used an extension made specifically for VEGAS Pro created by an external developer who also uses ffmpeg.
In the settings I selected, look mainly at the ffmpeg command line:
ffmpeg -y -i <inAVS> -i <inTempWav> -map 0:v -map 1:a -c:v prores_ks -profile:v 4 -c:a pcm_s16le <outFile>.mov
As I don't know how to interpret FFMPEG command lines very well, you are the ideal person for this.
Maybe what you're looking for is on that command line.
The Screen Record and the project are in this link bellow:
Hope this helps somehow!
Thanks!
Joelson

It is an issue with VEGAS and I've already contacted Magix if they can help me with this.
-
Thanks Vouk!
Now we just have to wait for an answer from Magix.

Got feedback from Magix. They're investigating it.

Hi Vouk
It's great news!
Until MAGIX solves this problem, how about adding the alpha channel option in Quick Time Animation codec + .mov container...
...and also in Go Pro Cineform HD codec + .mov and .AVI containers.
The alpha channel in VEGAS and Premiere always worked fine with this types of files. But, to all works fine in files with .mov container is necessary to have the Quick Time plugin installed on Windows...
https://support.apple.com/kb/dl837?locale=en_US
...and in VEGAS Pro 18 or higher, the Quick Time plugin option enabled in Preferences/Deprecated Features.
If you would like additional information about ProRes with alpha channel working on VEGAS pro 19, see this link:

Hi Vouke,
Joelson_Forte has mentioned an excellent suggestion, in adding an alpha channel option in the Quicktime Animation Codec .mov container..... Then we could easily export media with an alpha channel in excellent quality with a moderate file size.
What would even be more incredible in generating a smaller file size output at great quality is using the Photo-Jpeg Codec with an alpha channel option.
