Gotcha, thanks for the heads up.

Didn't knew that this was down to the SDK, my bad. Having the new features would've been nice, but I get your point.
Do you at least have any plans to upgrade to a more recent version in the future?
-
This new version uses FFmpeg 5.x right? Did you take a look at recent NVENC settings yet?
If I remember right there have been a few big updates, resulting in performance and quality upgrades, also changing the presets to p1 to p7.

Nothing special. x264 with the "General purpose" preset, plus FDK-AAC.
10.4test meanwhile seems to work without any big issues on my end.

Is Premiere freezing / crashing for anyone else when pressing on Export (File), or is it just me?
Latest connector for Premiere is installed of course.

Thoughts on adding AOM AV1, or replacing SVT with it?
Going by recent experiments, I think that it would make for quite the addition to Voukoder.
The RealTime mode seems to be surprisingly performant, while still allowing for excellent quality.
-
After a more in-depth analysis I can say a Voukoder plugin that supports muxed video and audio is possible.
Talking about some great news, can't say I saw this one coming.
This just might give me a reason to change away from Premiere.

I actually built the new version yesterday evening. The release will be very soon.
Beautiful and unexpecting timing, thanks a lot!

Yes it does
Wait a second, the MP4 container supports OPUS? I thought only MKV, WebM and OGG support it?
I tested it and added both Opus and Vorbis to the MP4 configuration.
Any idea when this will be added to a new RC, or a stable new version?
Quite a game changer for me to say the least, so any news on this is great news, thanks.

In fact the example provided with Resolve 17 beta IS actually an x264 encoder. On the first sight it seems they provide raw video data and you can feed the encoded frames back to resolve so it can mux it with the audio streams.
Personally, not being restricted to the limited options they give you but having custom x264 settings would already be a big plus in my book.
It's a shame that a full set up like in Vegas or Premiere might not be possible, but better than nothing provided the work isn't too much.
Thanks for the heads up.
-
Edit: Looks like it only supports custom video encoders and not a muxed output.
Sorry for my missing knowledge.
I guess you can't even get some basic x264 support going or something then since your method needs muxed output for sound and such?
Or to ask in a different way: What does their Custom Encoder support allow for in general then?

speed improvement, I've fixed an error on merange, tuned some other parameters, and added more presets
Excellent. Now to wait on Vouk to add it.
-
Hey, care to update the preset both for x264 and x265? I've made a plenty of changes and I promise this one is much better
Should we expect purely quality or also speed improvements?
-
I configured the presets for around 60 fps output without any post processing (rescaling, etc)
I was wondering for how many FPS they are set up, glad it's for 60.
Bit of a shame about the post processing stuff tho but hey.

High Quality, High Compression would run like 24 hrs for a 30min video? Is that normal? I'm on Ryzen 3700X and GTX 1070.
And the more interesting thing is that the high quality preset always fails. The lossless (fast) preset as well.
HQ HC only really seems viable for short clips on my 9900k@5GHz, anything too long absolutely explodes the encoding times.
Noticed the issue of some presets straight up not working myself also, something worth looking into maybe.

Third, I use FFmpeg internally to have the same interface for all encoders. They have less glue code in between.
Thought it might be something like that, less overhead 'n all that. Thanks for the heads up.
Off Topic
Premiere does not use x264, they use the man concept encoders.Didn't (Sony) Vegas also use MainConcet for mp4 content? Last time I had to use it I remember it being stupidly slow and bad with low bitrates.
Main reason why I changed over to premiere, and cause it had an NVENC plugin available fitting my needs at the time, and now voukoder.

Working on it.
Just saw the new RC, thanks mate!

Curious when you're going to add this also, especially since it doesn't seem to be a part of version 5RC1 just yet.
