I installed the latest release candidate. I rendered out a simple clip with the recommended settings and scale from 4K to 1080p. From halfway through it seems to pause every few seconds and then processor use spikes until it runs all-out at the very end. It stays at 99.7% for a couple of minutes. It seems to hang (but recovers and finishes). I had output the same clip a minute ago in 5 more smoothly with no pause at the end. I ran it a second time without the resize filter and it has the same issue.

I find the naming of the preset options confusing. As a user I'd expect them to range from good quality/low compression to lower quality/higher compression with a balanced option and then a lossless high file size option. Instead there are some confusingly named options.
The wording "maximum useful cost possible" is strange English. What does that mean?
The last two settings seem differently named than the first ones and don't have the speed in parentheses ( ) . I suggest renaming them to start with quality and end with speed.
I'm surprised there's no high quality, low compression option.
Is high quality/high compression better quality than general purpose (recommended)?

Thanks for letting me know I was doing it right.
Do you know if there is a quality difference between the two? I also noticed Zscale has an array of choices for filter (Spline 36 is default), but no help option stating the difference between them. Fine to leave it on the default? -
I meant changing resolution from 4K to 2K (HD). 1920x1080. I don't see where you can specify output resolution, whereas with the Vegas Magix AVC formats you can easily type in a preferred resolution and frame rate.
Are you supposed to change the project size? Or use the zscale output filter? -
Dumb question but if I have 4K footage and project but want to render HD is there a way to do that with Voukoder? I am not seeing an obvious setting.

The new connector seems to work fine with VP 18 and Voukoder 5. I didn't try 6rc yet.
-
Thanks for the update. I look forward to it when it's released and will share the news with others then, too.

I see Vegas 18 is now out. Is there a new connector to download?
-
Oh wonderful, I am glad you're on top of it. I look forward to testing the connector when it and 18 are out.

I saw Vegas Pro 18 is about to be launched. Do you expect Voukoder will support it from day 1 or do we have to wait? I plan to get it.

So4 only decodes AVC media. I've never seen any AVC get decoded by compoundplug.dll if so4compoundplug.dll is enabled.
Does that mean that this fix depends on the file format used?

Thanks for clarifying (and for fixing it!) Vegas works in mysterious ways.
Dumb question- do some types of footage not use SO4 even in Vegas 15+? -
I'm confused- so if a video is exported with Voukoder than it works perfectly in MPC or other players. However upon bringing it back into Vegas Pro, the decoders (so4 and non-so4?) make it appear to be out of sync?
-
If I'm understanding correctly, Vegas 17 works fine with Voukoder as is if so4 is enabled (default), but not if it is disabled. If that's the case, can Voukoder have a checkbox in the rendering window- if you manually disabled it, check the box and it can then apply a fix?
Did you report this issue to the Vegas programming team fifonik? I hope we can get it resolved in 18.
