The problem is the same on VK Virtualdub2 too... It is even slower there, with lower utilization. Virtualdub is not an NLE.
Voukoder can not use the full potential of Nvidia NVENC GPUs.
It encodes too slowly.
I use the latest softwares connector for Premiere pro.
See the screen shot about video encoding utilization in Windows 10 Taskmanagger.
When I use other encoders like Staxrip or Hybrid, the utilization of GPU is always spinning on maximum between 90% and 100%

The virtualdub2 is an open-source software, so everybody can develop and modify freely.
There is a problem with video capture in virtualdub2. It has problems with NV12 sources. It can not display the live picture and capture the video at the same time. You can choose that no-preview than you can capture the source. Or you can choose "overlay" to view the source picture, but you can not record.
The developer of VD2 said, that he has heard about this bug, however, he said sadly, that he has not such HW device which can provide NV12 source videos, so he can not test it.
Can you fix this problem in VD2?

The plan is the new voukoder is autodetecting this kind of settings from the GPUs driver software.

The importance of the task: You know VirtualDub still remained the most advanced capture software, even better than OBS(regarding to video capture, recording)
The most important thing for Nvidia cards to support all type of encoding settings what present-day VouKoder provides, including the lossless modes, and for the INTEL, the high bitrate (at least 200Mbit/sec) must be supported in AVC or HEVC.
Are you really sure that driver softwares represent the real capabilities and full potential of their own HW encoders?

Can you add Vouk to the virtualdub2 Capture mode?
As you can see there are even some FFMPEG-based encoders (Huffuv) in the compression list of VD2.
Can you make such a version, where something like FFMPEG-based NVENC HEVC and H264 and QSVENC H264 or HEVC will appear in the list of compressors in capture mode?
You know, nowadays very few people use Virtualdub for editing, it is used mostly for video capture!

The export is slow, because Voukoder uses FFMPEG, which does not allow internal trascoding (within the video card) process. Rigaya's NVENC can be much faster because of internal encoding. Howeve internal encoding disclude the possibility of video manipulation with video editor softwares.
I'll look into this (regarding feasability) soon, but don't expect an OBS plugin anytime soon. Work has not even started yet.
What about the new version of Virtualdub connector, which is able to capture from video sources?

Yes, I can just confirm what user voukoder_h said. Problems occour only with the usage of slow/old CPUs. But it is a 100% natural phenomenon in video capture.

The thing is that you'd need realtime (at least) encoding here. Maybe you want to record your webcam or any game and if the encoding ist not fast enough (i.e. x265, VP9, AV1) these frame will be dropped. So for most encoders in Voukoder this is not useful.
btw. OBS includes alot of encoders already (even more than Voukoder):
It's not that i don't want to do it. But I need a good reason, for why to do it.
I don't record games, these are only for teenagers. I want to record lossless 4K video via the Cam Link 4K to my laptop. Can you implement UT video? Because OBS doesn't handle well the FFMPEG commands, so the options for most of the built in ffmpeg codecs are laughable in OBS.
So for example you want to record directly i.e. in AV1 or VP9?
The most important is the H264 and HEVC in both NVENC and QSVENC options...
like to record lossless 4K HEVC or AVC from semi-professional camcorders to my small laptop. :)))
But of course, I also like the UT VIDEO CODEC too...

Interestingly, FFMPEG somehow could hande the input from my old MJPEG based 1080p HP webcam in OBS, so it means somehow FFMPEG is compatible with some compressed inputs....
But as I said, you can apply a simple error message window, if the source is not uncompressed. That is the easiest way.

This topic pops up from time to time. What is the general idea behind this? Not many encoders are suitable for real-time encoding, and those capable of it are already included in OBS. What encoder(s) do you exactly need that are not included there?

Most of the FFMPEG based compression in OBS are not reliable, they often did not react to FFMPEG commands, you can not set options for the codecs etc....
That's why a more reliable plugin needed.

The big idea is the quality (DSLR and Camcorder) uncompressed sources.
The thing is ... Voukoder needs uncompressed input.
Yes, you can ban the input from MJPEG webcam sources with an error message.
The big deal are the DSLRs & Camcorder sources. Content creators don't use webcams with MJPEG or h264 input.
So if you ban MJPEG and h264 source videos with error message, the problem is solved.
